Our Philosophy

We at Symmetry have a passion for helping patients and clients achieve and protect balance in their bodies and lives. We love providing deep rehabilitative work as well as assisting people who desire to improve and maintain their daily health and well-being. We approach all bodies with the goal of first achieving symmetry, then working towards optimizing performance of the balanced body. This philosophy applies to intensive rehabilitation sessions, general maintenance massage, and personal fitness instruction.

Our Specialties

A combination of deep gliding stokes, myofascial techniques, joint movements and muscle energy techniques are applied as needed to restore proper tissue health and structural balance. This type of session is good for those who have chronic conditions, old injuries, limitations in mobility or just prefer deep massage with dramatic results! This can range in intensity due to your tolerance level and your body’s restrictions.
Structural Integration focuses on the web-like network of connective tissues (called fascia) in the body. Fascia is designed to be elastic and move freely with muscles and bones. With injury, stress and/or aging, fascia can loose it’s elasticity, become more dense and start to stick against other healthy tissues. Tightened fascia restricts muscle’s and bone’s proper function and posture. Structural Integration works on fascia to release, realign and balance the whole body, potentially resolving discomfort, reducing compensations and alleviating pain. It aims to enhance your posture and freedom of movement.
Suction cups are applied to the body to facilitate soft tissue release, loosen and lift connective tissue, break up and drain stagnation, and increase blood and lymph flow to skin and muscles. Negative pressure (as apposed to tissue compression like in traditional massage therapies) is great for pain, stubborn conditions, repetitive strains, inflammation, toxicity, chronic fatigue and many more common ailments. The pulling action also engages the parasympathetic nervous system thereby creating a deep relaxation through the entire body. You may be surprised at how relaxed, warm and light you’ll feel hours—sometimes even days—afterwards.
90% of TMJ problems are related to an imbalance in the muscles associated with chewing and the temporomandibular joint. TMD often occurs when chewing muscles and the TMJ work incorrectly which causes cramping and spasms. These spasms become part of a cycle that can result in tissue damage, pain, and muscle tenderness. They are also often associated with severe and/or chronic headache pain. Releasing the muscles of the temporomandibular joint and the upper cervical region can resolve acute and some times long standing jaw problems and headaches.
Promote your body’s own healing mechanisms, boost your immunity, reduce puffiness caused by water retention, poor circulation or pregnancy, and decrease swelling due to injury or surgery through the very light pressure of lymphatic drainage massage. Lymphatic Massage stimulates the lymphatic system to remove congestion and stagnation from within the body, and help it return to a healthy condition. The primary function of the lymph system is to defend the body against disease by cleansing, detoxifying, and nourishing the body’s tissues. When the lymphatic system is blocked, toxins and excess fluid may accumulate causing interference with cell nourishment and depressing the immune system.

DermoNeuroModulation (DNM) “is a structured, interactive approach to manual therapy that considers the nervous system of the patient from skin cell to sense of self. Techniques are slow, light, kind, intelligent, responsive and effective.” Moving the position of the arms and legs—relative to the body’s core—repositions the skin and stimulates a neurological response of relaxation and release. You can learn more at www.dermoneuromodulation.com.

With the use of body cushions, our pregnant clients are often able to lay face down during their massages through their entire pregnancy. We focus on releasing commonly restricted tissues through the shoulders, low back and hips which helps prepare the body for delivery and motherhood. We also can provide notable relief of common swelling in the limbs with a little lymphatic work. Our pre-natal appointments often include “homework” for self-lymphatic management and strengthening for delivery.

Chloe Bradley
Chloe Bradley
Chloe’s passion for deep rest and relaxation informs every session. She uses classic Swedish approaches in an attentive flow to soothe stressed nerves and calm busy minds. Specific pain and areas of tension are addressed with DermoNeuroModulation, an approach that uses slow, gentle movements to target the nerves responsible for discomfort.

In 2015 Chloe graduated with honors from the National Holistic Institute in Northern California. Before attending massage school, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from The Evergreen State College. A writer at heart, she is uniquely equipped with a narrative lens to health and wellness. During her time in Olympia, she fell in love with the Pacific Northwest, and is beyond excited to be putting down roots in Vancouver. She looks forward to listening to her clients and helping them find greater ease in the movements of daily life.

Jesica Ball
Jesica Ball
My introduction to massage therapy was rooted in Swedish techniques and relaxation. After that, my training focused on Sports and Clinical/Medical massage. I spent the majority of my early days working with collegiate and Olympic athletes learning what optimal body function looks like as well as assisting with acute muscle injuries, while continually offering deep tissue relaxation treatments. Since my graduation in 2001, I have provided therapeutic massage and bodywork to a variety of clients in a clinic setting.

My techniques vary depending on patient/client needs and individual circumstances. I aim to address the whole body to release musculoskeletal holding patterns that create pain, restrict movement or impair full body function. I believe in a holistic approach to the body and understand that as a massage therapist, I am only one member of a client’s health team.
